I’m deeply grateful to have added this precious tool to my practice, thanks to the powerful teachings of Nathalie Marguerat and Delphine de Courville from the Auranesis School of Kinesiology.
A weekend of profound transformation — eye-opening, moving, and truly impactful.
A deep dive into a sensitive, often misunderstood relationship: the link between emotions, the unconscious… and weight.
When we eat our emotions
Neuroscience has made this clear: emotional eating is not a lack of willpower, but an adaptive response of the brain. When we feel stress or discomfort, the brain seeks to soothe it by activating the reward circuit (dopamine). Eating becomes a coping strategy — a soothing mechanism, a refuge, a substitute for what is missing: love, safety, validation, presence.
In short: it’s not about control. It’s about emotional survival.
But when this becomes a repeated pattern, the brain creates shortcuts: stress = food. Over time, weight can become the body’s message… or the soul’s mask.
The brain and its programs
Each of us carries “metabolic programs” — subconscious patterns or belief systems around weight, food, and body image. These are often shaped during childhood or inherited through our family lineage. They take root in emotionally intense moments and influence how our nervous system regulates our relationship to nourishment and self-image.
Thanks to the tools I learned during this training, I now know how to identify these hidden, powerful, yet transformable unconscious commands.
Some of the common root causes behind recurring weight gain or loss include:
-
Fear of abandonment or emotional isolation
-
Fear of scarcity — material or emotional
-
Fear of judgment or disappointing others
-
Guilt, shame, or unprocessed grief
-
Family loyalties (e.g., “all the women in my family are heavy”)
-
Weight as an unconscious shield of protection
-
Fragile self-worth or distorted body image
-
The unconscious need to “take up space” or, conversely, disappear
-
Memories of trauma, insecurity, or feeling devalued
-
Unresolved toxic relationships
-
…and so many more.
Releasing blocks and offering a new program
Once these beliefs are brought to light and felt in the body — yes, in the tissues, in the cells, in the nervous system — transformation can begin.
The goal is not to “make someone lose” or “gain” weight. The goal is reconciliation.
Reconnecting the body, the mind, and the unconscious.
We then offer the body a new program — one that is respectful, nourishing, emotionally safe. One that allows needs to be met through healthier channels, without turning to food as compensation.
A program that makes the body feel like home again: a space of softness, presence, and self-love.
What I experienced myself
I experienced this work personally over the weekend.
I was surprised (and deeply moved) to uncover emotional patterns still active within me — quiet inner programs I didn’t even know were there.
Bringing awareness to them was the beginning of the healing. And I’m so grateful for that.
Because healing your relationship with weight… is also healing your relationship with life.
✨ If these words resonate with you — if you feel that your body might be holding on to emotional memories, fear, or unspoken conflict around food or weight — I would be honored to support you in this healing process.
