Spring is often seen as a joyful season—especially in places like Switzerland, where winter can be long, cold, and dark. The return of sunlight, the blossoming of nature, longer days… everything seems to invite us to be reborn.

And yet, for many people, this period also brings fatigue, irritability, anxiety, allergies, and even persistent colds. Why?

Because every seasonal change disrupts our internal clock—our circadian rhythm—and can lead to hormonal, metabolic, emotional, and immune imbalances. Just like nature, our body undergoes a transition. And if supported well, this can become a beautiful opportunity for transformation.

Aligning with Spring’s Energy: The Wood Element

In kinesiology, we often rely on the foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which observes life through the lens of five elements and seasonal cycles.

Spring is associated with the Wood element, connected to the Liver and Gallbladder.

  • Wood is movement, expansion, creativity.

  • It governs the tendons, vision, planning, and taking action.

  • It’s an upward-moving energy: like sap rising in trees, it lifts, pushes, propels.

But for this energy to rise harmoniously, the liver must be supported—because the liver is the body’s main filter.

The Liver: A Physical Organ… and an Emotional One

Biologically, the liver:

  • stores and filters blood,

  • neutralizes toxins,

  • produces enzymes essential to immune function.

But in Chinese medicine, it’s also the seat of anger.

When overwhelmed by poor diet, stress, or repressed emotions, the liver energy stagnates. This stagnation can show up as:

  • muscle tension,

  • joint pain,

  • headaches,

  • sleep issues,

  • painful menstruation,

  • and… sudden outbursts of anger.

Spring is the perfect time to gently support and detoxify the liver.

Simple Ways to Support Your Spring Energy

✔️ Lighten your diet
Favor leafy greens (like dandelion, spinach, arugula), sprouts, and fresh juices. Reduce fatty foods, dairy, alcohol, sugar, and stimulants like coffee.

✔️ Move daily
Take walks, stretch, breathe deeply. Wood needs movement to thrive—even 15 minutes a day can make a difference.

✔️ Support your emotions
Anger isn’t bad—it’s an energy of transformation. But it needs a safe space to be released.

Two Energy Exercises to Release Tension

Suggested by Tal Schaller and Johanne Razanamahay, these are powerful ways to discharge pent-up emotion:

🔹 The Bear Exercise
Lean forward, let your arms and head hang. Shake your body while making sounds and funny faces. Breathe deeply. Do this for 2–3 minutes. It helps release anger, oxygenate the brain, and calm the nervous system.

🔹 The Tiger Exercise
Like a tiger clawing at trees, alternate your arms in fast, exaggerated movements. Add grimaces, growls, stick out your tongue—anything that releases tension. End by crossing and uncrossing your arms as if tearing away the weight you carry. Breathe deeply. Feel the joy, life, and flow returning.

These are also great for kids!

Expanding Your Vision: Spring’s Spiritual Invitation

In Taoist philosophy, the liver is linked to the Hun, the spiritual aspect that allows us to dream, imagine, and see the bigger picture.

Spring supports:

  • the release of old patterns,

  • the birth of new ideas,

  • the manifestation of purpose.

It’s a great time to refocus your vision and plant the seeds for what you truly want to grow this year.

So… what if this spring, you allowed yourself to truly blossom?

Whether it’s to support your liver, release old emotional patterns, or bring new ideas to life, I’m here to support you with kinesiology, archaic reflex integration, maieusthesia, and hypnotherapy.

Because we are meant to evolve, to grow, to shine.

🌿 Let’s blossom together.
